Why They're Hot

Answers to Your Questions

On the Posts:

  • Why do you guys take it so far? It’s inappropriate.

No actually, it’s not. Adults with wants and needs and desires should be able to talk about them. Bluntly. If sex or talking about sex makes you uncomfortable, you’re following the wrong blog. Sometimes there will be tame posts, sometimes they’ll be so explicit they’ll make you blush. If you can’t handle it, I don’t fault you, and I don’t care. There are plenty of Tumblrs out there for looking at pretty pictures of pretty people. Go follow them.

  • Why don’t you put the name of the hot person in all of your posts?
Well that’s just how it started and it became a part of the theme. But, I do, actually. Each post is tagged with the name of the hottie being discussed. Also, usually there will be at least one link to a YouTube video, article or something else that will identify them included somewhere in the post. Click around a bit, or just visit the original post page.
  • How do we know who wrote what?
Posts written by me will be tagged with “Blissed”. If the post is a reader submission it will be tagged ‘submission’ as well as having “{submission}” at the bottom of the post. If you visit the post page, it will tell you to the right of the post the name of the person who wrote it - click that to visit their Tumblr. Unless they don’t have a Tumblr: in that case it won’t be a link.
  • When are you going to cover THISGUY/GIRL?
Patience is a virtue. I have the queue scheduled to publish at most 3 or 4 per day, in order to not clutter your dashboards or overload your loins. Because of this, if you’re waiting on a particular hottie it may take some time to see them covered. If you wait a while and you’re sure I’m just never going to get to them, feel free to write it up yourself and submit, or suggest them for me to write about via the contact form.
  • Why only five reasons? Why those five reasons?
It’s the theme. I’m lazy, hence the bullet point format to begin with. The reasons listed of course are not all of or the only reasons someone is hot. They may be reasons only applicable to the person writing it. But “Why I, The Author of This Post, Personally Think They’re Hot” was too long of a Tumblr name, so calm down. Just enjoy the fucking picture if nothing else.
  • I saw something wrong with one of your posts, how can I tell you so you can fix it?
If you catch a typo or any misinformation (say, I said they were 6’1” and they’re 6’5”, or attributed a film to a person that wasn’t in it), please contact me so that I can edit the post. Believe me, I don’t like looking like a complete idiot, and I’m sure the people that submit don’t want that either, so I appreciate your help. And when proofreading, I sometimes glaze over really big errors.
  • Did you know that I really hate your stupid blog?
Don’t care, friend. I hope you find something worthwhile in life to hate. Like The Black Eyed Peas.

On Submissions:

  • Do you edit submissions?
Sometimes. I’ll edit your submission if there are typos or grammatical errors, if the wording would sound better another way, etc. Never very much though. It’s too much work and I’m lazy. And I barely have time to be a moderator, let alone an editor. Plus, this shit isn’t that serious anyway and I don’t want to impede on your personal voice. Basically, I’ll only edit more than typos if your overall piece is good and I really want to publish it but something’s just not clicking with it. If you have a problem with that, make a note of that with your submission. Also, if you’d prefer your submission went up anonymously include a note letting us know (note: If you have a Tumblr account and want to submit anonymously, please log out before submitting or else it will be tied to your account.)
  • I submitted a guy a week ago - where is he?
I get a lot of submissions. No but for real - I get a lot. You people are real horndogs, and I fucking love it. Posts aren’t published in any particular order and it may take a while to see yours go up.
  • I submitted someone and I saw a piece on them go up that wasn’t mine, WTF?
If you see a piece published on a person after you’d submitted on the same person but it wasn’t your piece (let that sink in for a minute or two), it’s because someone else wrote them up before you and it was already in the queue. It has nothing to do with the quality of your work, usually - just the timing. However sometimes I do pick and choose. I can do that.
  • I’m a straight girl, but I’d like to write a piece on a straight girl. Can I?
I prefer that our pieces on females come from men or the LGBT community, just as I like the pieces on men to come from women or gay men. Since WTH focuses on the sexual desire for the people written about, if there is none, it will come across as phony. That said, you’re more than welcome to submit anyway. If it’s good, it’s good and it’ll go up.
  • Do you reject submissions?
Yessir. Never because I don’t personally think a guy is hot or any lame reason like that. See here for more on rejections.

Miscellanea:

  • Can I write for you?
Everyone is welcome to write for WTH: this is a very community driven blog. You can write for it by submitting posts.
  • Can I help moderate?

No. You’ll be the first to know if I’m ever on the lookout for someone to help run things around here though. Cross my heart.
